Create a Zigpoll post purchase survey on your shopify store

How to: Setup post purchase and order status surveys for your Shopify Store.

Step 1: Install the Shopify App

Click here to install the app onto your Shopify store. Our Shopify app is free so theres no need to have a production store at this point in time. This makes it easy to build it out on your development or staging stores first if you prefer.

Step 2: Create your survey

Once you install the app, click Create Survey. You can chose from one of our pre-built templates or you can build everything from scratch. Select Post Purchase from the options on step number 2 and then name it something easy to remember like Post Purchase Survey.

Everything is customizable after the survey is created so there is no need to worry about it being perfect to start.

Step 3: Make the survey visible.

Click the visibility switch on the top right to make your survey visible.

Once it's visible your customers will see it on their post purchase and order status pages. You can test this out on your own store by either placing a test order or going to Orders → More Actions → View Order Status page in the Shopify admin section.

Step 4 (checkout extensibility): Add the Zigpoll app block to your checkout pages.

If you are using checkout extensibility on your Shopify store, you will need to add the Zigpoll app block to your post purchase and thank you pages. Click here for a step by step guide on how to set that up.

Best practices for post purchase survey:

  • Start with your most simple question first to lower the cognitive overhead and increase participation (on average Zigpoll customers see a 40%+ response rate on post purchase pages).
  • Ask an attribution question like: How did you hear about us?
  • Ask a segmentation question like: Who are you purchasing for?
  • Ask an open-ended question like: Anything else you would like to share?
  • Export your data regularly or take advantage of our integrations so that you are taking action and driving targeted campaigns based on your customer's response data.
  • Use our multi-language translation feature to engage your customers in their preferred language.
