Frequently Asked Questions
-
What is MCP?
The Model Context Protocol is an open standard that lets AI assistants call tools in other products. Zigpoll runs a hosted MCP server, so Claude, ChatGPT and other clients can read your survey data and act on your account without any code.
-
Which AI clients work with Zigpoll MCP?
Any client that supports remote MCP servers over Streamable HTTP: Claude (web, desktop and Claude Code), ChatGPT, Cursor, n8n, Zapier and others. You add the same URL in each.
-
Do I need an API key?
No. The server uses OAuth. Paste the URL, sign in with your Zigpoll account, pick the store, and the connection is live. You can revoke it any time from your account.
-
What can the assistant see?
Only the account you connect: its surveys, responses, participants and reports. Nothing leaves Zigpoll except what you ask for in the conversation, and the tools return only the fields needed to answer.
-
Can agents change things in my account?
Yes, if you let them. Write tools can create and publish surveys, add or edit questions, send survey links by email or SMS, set up webhooks and start synthetic research. Every action appears in your account like any other change.
-
What kinds of questions can I ask?
Anything the reports can answer, and more: revenue by channel, NPS by segment, sizing complaints by product, verbatims for a brief, drop-off by question, or a Monday summary for Slack. The use-cases guide has starting points sorted by decision.
-
Which plans include MCP?
API and MCP access are included from the Premium plan up. Responses and synthetic research count towards the limits of the plan you are on. See pricing.
-
Is there a REST API too?
Yes. MCP sits on top of the same access as the REST API, so anything you can do in a chat you can also do in code, n8n or Zapier.
