How To Set Up A Custom Sender Domain
By default, Zigpoll sends your email surveys from an address like
[email protected]. If you want a fully on-brand experience —
and better deliverability — you can send those surveys from your own domain
instead, so they arrive from something like [email protected].
Setting this up is self-serve and takes just a few minutes.
Why use a custom sender domain?
- Builds trust — recipients recognize your brand in the From address.
- Improves deliverability — authenticated, on-brand mail is less likely to land in spam.
- Lifts open and response rates — people open mail from a name they know.
Custom sender domains are available on the Standard plan and higher.
How to set it up
- Log into your Zigpoll dashboard and go to Settings → General. Enable the Custom Sender Domain switch.

Enter a sending subdomain. Use a dedicated subdomain such
as
mg.yourstore.com— not your root domain — then click Save Domain. -
Add your DNS records. Zigpoll generates the SPF and DKIM
records (added as TXT records) that authorize us to send on your behalf.
You have two options:
- Auto-Connect DNS — if your DNS provider is supported, click this and Zigpoll adds the records for you in a single click.
- Add them manually — copy the Name and Value of each record into your DNS provider. Each record shows a live status (unverified / valid / invalid) so you can confirm it was added correctly.
- Verify. Click Verify Domain. As soon as your records validate, your custom sender domain activates automatically — there's no waiting on manual approval.
DNS changes can take up to 24–48 hours to propagate, though it's often much faster. If your records still show as unverified, give it a little time and click Verify Domain again.
That's it! Send yourself a test email survey — it will now arrive from your custom domain.
